Small Devices, Big Impact: Partnering with Project Shoestring
We are excited to share a fantastic collaboration aimed at making our workshop smarter and more sustainable. We recently teamed up with the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM) at the University of Cambridge and engineering students from Brockenhurst College to deploy low-cost, high-impact monitoring devices on our shop floor using Project Shoestring frameworks.

From College Lab to Our Shop Floor
The talented students at Brockenhurst College built the Shoestring monitoring systems from scratch back at their campus. With the builds complete, the students visited our workshop for deployment day to install the hardware firsthand.
We were also delighted to host Duvan Pineda from the University of Cambridge, who helped guide the installation and data setup.

Looking Ahead
The sensors are live and the data is flowing! Moving forward, we will monitor these systems to optimize our energy efficiency, reduce our carbon footprint, and ensure a healthier workspace. A huge thank you to Brockenhurst College, Duvan Pineda, and the Cambridge IfM team for driving this project forward. Stay tuned for updates as we start analysing the data!
